To make this shiitake mushroom, I melted a sizable mound of sterling silver scraps into a blob. I added more scraps to the top to give it a mushroom shape. I then carved out the inside of the blob and soldered silver wire. I melted more scraps into the shape of the stem, carved lines down the sides, then soldered the cap and stem together.
The shiitake mushroom hangs on a handmade, sterling silver chain, adjustable 23-26". The mushroom is solid silver.
This piece is one of a kind.
