I find myself smiling as childhood memories surface, of tossing helicopters into the air and watching them spin to the ground. My brother and I would have races, seeing whose seed would propel most rapidly to our feet. There was logic in finding the heaviest seeds, I suppose. I didn’t realize that as a young girl. I was focused on finding the seeds that were prettiest, most symmetrical. My brother always won.
