Here is a plant with a nickname that I can easily remember: Fishbone or Zigzag cactus. This cool plant originates from the rainforest of Mexico and has uniquely shaped long, flat stems resembling a fishbone. It is an epiphytic plant meaning it grows aerial roots in its natural environment which anchor to a host plant.
The flower of the Fishbone blossoms only once annually. It takes several weeks to develop, lasting only a day or two once opened. Most cultivars or species will produce a sweet-smelling fragrance that'll be most prominent at night.
If you want yours to flower, give it a bit more full sun in late summer to early fall which will turn the tops of the leaves red and stimulate flower growth.
Hand fabricated sterling silver Fishbone Cactus earrings. I couldn’t resist.
They are definitely statement earrings, measuring 3.25" in length. They are 2" wide. They are one of a kind.
