This Steer in the Ferns brooch involved a ludicrous amount of sawing and three layers of silver sheet. My fingers and arms were sore from the monotonous movement.
I go through periods of setting botanicals aside and creating pieces with natural beach rocks and/or shadow boxes. Today, when creating this piece, was one of those days.
If you look closely, you'll see that this piece is incredibly detailed. It measures 3.5" from antlers to hoofs and 2.5" wide. It is made with sterling silver and a natural white beach rock. It is one of a kind.
