For this acorn I started with a sheet of silver. I hammered the sheet into little cups and carved out each triangle in the cap using an inverted cone bur. I then soldered the two cups together to create a hollow form. With sterling silver a hollow form can literally explode if there is any moisture left inside as it is heated, so it’s essential to have a pinhole. When the moisture evaporates (as it is heated) it is possible to solder the hole shut, which I did with a small piece of wire to create the acorn tip.
The acorn that you will be purchasing is the one in the first (main) picture.
The length of the leather cord with handmade chain at one end is 17-20".
One of a kind.
